Barrister Yunusa was said to have sneaked into the state election collation center two hours before result collations were to resume on Sunday and announced that Binani had won the polls despite not being the Returning Officer.

While reacting to the incident during an interview on Voice Of the People FM on Monday morning, Rufai revealed that the INEC-approved Returning Officer, who is University Professor was being physically assaulted by some persons at the time the Resident Electoral Commissioner went into the collation center to declare victory in favor of the APC.

He said; “When I heard what happened in Adamawa on Sunday, I wept for Nigeria my country. We taking the road of madness. To me, this is the height of madness and rubbish.

What level of desperation is this? I openly clamored for the APC to win in Adamawa because I wanted a woman to become governor. But if this is the attitude a female is already showing, then I no longer want it. I am sad for my country.

Do you know what happened? It was all a plan. There were ten local governments yet to be counted, that is, 10 results to go. The INEC REC came in and postponed the result collation, asking people to come back the following day by 11 am. Before the announced time, the man came back and declared the winner when there were still ten more local government results uncounted.

That was a coup. During that time, the State Returning Officer, a university professor who was supposed to read the result, had been taken to one corner and beaten. And then, the APC candidate, a woman whom everybody was clamoring for, went ahead to the most undignified thing by reading an acceptance speech.”…..CONTINUE READING
