While describing himself as a servant leader, the PDP governorship candidate said he is accessible, decisive, and committed to the progress of his beloved Imo state.

According to him, his current position has allowed him the experience and exposure of national party administration, management, and leadership.

Anyanwu, who was also a two-time Local Government Chairman for Ikeduru, House of Assembly member representing Ikeduru, and Senator representing Imo East Senatorial District Owerri Zone from 2015-2019, said the 8 tenets of his security agenda will bother on security of people, property, and businesses; security of justice, equity, and the rule of law; economic security; job security; food security; educational security; health security and infrastructural security.

“I believe that Imo state needs a servant leader and not a ruler. I am that servant leader. I am accessible, decisive, and committed to the progress of our beloved Imo state.

“I respect the need and know the importance (value) of having technocrats leading, operating, and driving the different sectors in our dear state, hence, we intend to assemble a team of top-notch experts to navigate the different sectors of the operations of the state,” he said.

He noted that “In focusing on security, we shall not sacrifice liberty on the altar of security, so as not to “lose both” like Ron Paul warned,” pledging that “We will deliver security in all its ramification, so residents of Imo state can enjoy the peace that seem to have deluded them. When your vehicle breaks down in the evening in our dear state, you will not be left to choose between securing your life or your property.”

Anyanwu also expressed belief in collaborative leadership, where no decisions would be taken about the people without engaging the people.

He christened his style of leadership “Sam Daddy Factor!” I repeat, adding that we shall not make decisions about the people without the people.

“It is a leadership style that calls for constant consultation, collaboration, and cooperation. The reason behind this style of leadership comes from my awareness of what it means for a majority to give one their mandate freely and the magnitude of the trust and responsibility that comes with it.

“In asking Imo people to give me their mandate in November 2023, I know like Eccl. 9:11, it will not be because of how fast, how great or even how good I am out of the approximately 5 million ndi Imo, it is because of time, chance and the divine grace of God.

“I have prayed for a time such as this, when I would be chosen to lead Imo into a brighter and better future. A future that will create equal opportunity for all, promote the welfare of the people, and improve our economy in a secure, peaceful, and safe environment. A responsible and sensitive government should drive policies and programmes that would promote real development, enable the people to feel the impact of governance and create an environment that would foster harmonious co-existence,” he said.

According to him, “Imo should be known for a robust manufacturing economy; international education destination, and a haven for medical tourism. It should return to a place of safety, peace, and security, with a booming hospitality sector as this is indicative of peace, as is obtainable in different parts of the world with tourism-based economies.”

He also expressed commitment to the plight of vulnerable people in the state if elected governor, adding that the plight of the poor, Persons With Disabilities, PWD, Women and Youth would be addressed.

“Our government will establish an effective protocol for providing welfare services to alleviate poverty, with our flagship program Operation End Poverty (OEP). OEP will streamline services that would assist Imolites to live above the poverty threshold by addressing welfare needs of food, shelter, and economic empowerment,” he said…..CONTINUE READING
