Following the information obtained by news reporters,the police authorities disclosed that the alleged cult members were murdered in an erratic exchange of gunfire that took place after a fight for dominance between the two competing terror groups in the region.
When contacted by news reporters,the Superintendent of Police,SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state police command, verified the gruesome deaths, explaining that two of the deceased cult members were wanted criminals who made life miserable for inhabitants of the Ahoada East and West region of the community and its neighbourhood settlements.
The police spokeswoman also gave the name the deceased suspects as Azhinibudu Biko, also known by his nickname ‘Yankee’, and the other,Gboka Odoi, adding that they have participated in several criminal operations including robbery and wrecking havoc in the region before they met their waterloo.
On the other hand,a resident within the targeted neighbourhood,who was interviewed by local journalists and doesn’t want his identity revealed on social media narrated that,the police officers were left with no choice but to get involved in the whole chaos because the opposing cult groups were ready to tear down the community if they weren’t stopped.
Additionally, he clarified that a lot of police hilux have been moving to and fro across all corners of the community, looking for suspects and almost to make sure that normalcy is restored in the region as quick as possible because it was raining fire and brimstone.
In the meantime,the superintendent of police urged law-abiding inhabitants of the community to go about their businesses without fear while assuring that the police will do everything humanly possible to make sure that there’s no more bloodshed in the renewed cult war before lives and properties of innocent civilians are left in ruins and destroyed….CONTINUE READING
