Other members include the Acting Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries, Acting Clerk to the State House of Assembly, as well as the representatives of the Commissioner of Police and the State Director, theDepartment of State Service, DSS.
In addition, the Governor-elect, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu nominated other members of the Committee which the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government would serve as the Secretary.
Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri explained that two major functions would be performed by the transition council of collating, and the submission of inventory on assets and liabilities including staff strength for the incoming government.
The committee has also been saddled with the responsibility of organizing a smooth and colourful hand over.
Performing the ceremony at the Council Chamber, Government House, Birnin Kebbi, this Wednesday, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu said he felt honoured to inaugurate the committee to spearhead collation and doing all works required to prepare the new Governor with materials for take-off.
Furthermore, the Committee would identify areas of priorities of campaign promises made by the Governor-elect.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu described the process of transition as high important and requested the members of the committee to swing into action.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for signing Executive Order 13, essential for transition which documented step by step seamless hand over.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu made it clear that the Governor-elect has the right to know everything about government formally and directed all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to give the transition council maximum support for optimum results.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu used the occasion to announce that he is also a member of the transition council of Mr. President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TInubu.
Present at the ceremony were the Governor-elect, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, the State APC Chairman, Abubakar Kana Zuru and the Deputy DG Campaign Council retired Deputy Comptroller General, Abubakar Mallam Shattiman Gwandu among others.
The list of committee members are as follows, Babale Umar Yauri,SSG, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena, Acting Head of Service, Malan Dahiru Zaki, Permanent Secretary Cabinet and Political Affairs,Barr Abubakar Zaki Lonzon, Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Justice, Hajiya Aishatu M. Usman, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Abubakar Garba Dutsin Mari, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance.
Others are Mr. Joel Aiki, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture, Alhaji Faruk B. Rufai,State Auditor General, Arch Saadu M. Sakaba, Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Abdulmumin Abdullahi, Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Hussaini Abdullahi Zuru, Chief Registrar, State High Court and Suleiman Shamaki, Acting Clerk, Kebbi State House of Assembly.
Those nominated by the Governor -elect were Alhaji Abubakar Gari Malam, Alhaji Yakubu Tafida, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Chika, Alhaji Shehu Mu’azu,Barrister Haruna Yakubu, Dr Usman Sani Tunga , Rector Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, Muhammed Sani Umar Yeldu Permanent Secretary , Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs will serve as the Secretary of the committee….CONTINUE READING
