Adedayo was invited by the DSS for interrogation. The security services detained Adedayo afterwards.

Adedayo was suspended by the Ijebu East Local Government Area legislative council for three months on accounts of fund mismanagement and maladministration on August 31.

He disclosed to The Punch that he was detained for the writing a petition against Governor Dapo Abiodun to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission last month. Adedayo, however, expressed his resolve to challenge his suspension and see the petition to the end.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Joint Account and Allocation Committee (JAAC) had dismissed Adedayo’s allegations against Abiodun on Friday. According to the statement issued by the Ogun State House of Assembly, the JAAC explained that they met monthly alongside key officials like the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, the permanent secretaries, the 20 local government chairmen, among others to manage funds allocated to local government areas.
