Speaking to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, the national chairman of the civil society organization, Comrade Shehu Isah S. Kudu, said that they were reacting to a story published in a newspaper on 18th May, 2023, where the Governor of Zamfara state asked the EFCC boss, Ab­dulrasheed Bawa, to resign to allow for investigation.

He noted that the call in the first place was uncalled for and a display of ignorance on how the body operates

“It may interest Mattawale to know that a petition must be written and submitted to EFCC by a fellow Nigerian against an­other person with facts before the body will investigate to find out the truth or otherwise of the allegations,” he said.

Shehu added that Zamfara governor is jittery over allega­tions of corrupt practices lev­eled against him, adding that the EFCC is waiting for his immuni­ty to elapse before charging him.

He alleged that the governor wanted to get sympathy from Nigerians so that when the body invites him to answer, he will say it was because he talked.

He said President Muham­madu Buhari is by far the only president who released lot of monies to governors, adding the Zamfara state governor got the funds and did nothing with it.
