The electoral body also stated that any candidate aggrieved with the declaration of the incumbent governor, Ahmadu Fintiri (the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP flag-bearer) as winner of the election should “act within the bounds of propriety and decency”.
Binani had raised suspicion about the roles of some INEC national officers who she said visited the Adamawa state government house, questioning their real mission.
But INEC in its latest statement signed by Festus Okoye, the agency’s commissioner for information and voter education, said: “To set the record straight, no such visit took place let alone the compilation of any purported list of collation and returning officers.
“Such a meeting would have been contrary to the oath of neutrality that we all swore to.”……CONTINUE READING
