Fayose emphasized that without a framework ensuring the rotation of the presidency, Nigeria might continue to grapple with political challenges. He suggested that certain individuals should reconsider their participation in specific elections, using the Vice President’s involvement in the last election as an example.
Drawing a parallel with the 2015 election, Fayose argued that had Goodluck Jonathan chosen not to contest, the PDP might have secured victory. He cautioned against neglecting the lessons from history and stressed the importance of prudence to ensure that well-intentioned actions do not become burdensome.
Fayose firmly believes that embedding rotational presidencies in the constitution is essential to address political challenges. He highlighted the need for individuals, including Vice Presidents, to carefully evaluate their participation in elections. Fayose also referenced the 2015 election, cautioning against ignoring the valuable lessons it offers.

If Jonathan had not run in the 2015 election, PDP could have won. We must reflect on our past and exercise caution to prevent our noble intentions from becoming stumbling blocks…..CONTINUE READING
