Gathers that the defendants were arraigned in November 2022 on three counts of conspiracy, armed robbery and attempted murder of the former First Lady.
The court presided over by Justice Adolphus Enebeli found Gelson and Garba guilty of armed robbery and attempted murder, noting that the prosecution counsel proved his case beyond a reasonable doubt.
He subsequently sentenced them to seven years imprisonment.
The court also convicted and sentenced one Tamunoala Alatoru to six months imprisonment for negligence to her duties.
Ebebeli ruled that the prosecution proved his case against Alatoru.
In another report, Nigeria’s former president, Goodluck Jonathan, turned a new age on November 20, 2022, and friends and well-wishers gathered to mark the occasion with him.
To celebrate the politician’s 64th birthday, his wife, Patience Jonathan , also made sure to entertain him with a song.
As the couple were aboard a private jet, Patience alongside a group of others sang a birthday song for Goodluck Jonathan. However, the former first lady’s voice stood out the most seeing as she was singing off-key.
Meanwhile, Legit also previously reported that ex-First Lady Patience Jonathan called on women to deploy their God-given talents to pursue peace in society.
Mrs Jonathan spoke during a virtual International Leadership Conference (ILC) organised by the Universal Peace Federation( UPF) tagged: ‘Toward a Peaceful Reunification of the Korean Peninsula.
