One manager Chelsea are now considering after Mauricio Pochettino’s exit

Chelsea are now on the search for a new manager and are looking at options in England.

As per The Guardian, while he is seen as a dark horse, Burnley’s Vincent Kompany is one name that is currently under consideration.

Kompany is someone who a lot of Chelsea fans are unlikely to get excited about.

His Burnley side have just been relegated from the Premier League after losing 24 games this season.

Vincent Kompany fits the mould for Chelsea board

Insider Graeme Bailey has told The Chelsea Chronicle that Thomas Tuchel is unlikely to return to the Blues and that the club want a young manager.

Kompany, 38, obviously fits the criteria and has done a good job at Burnley overall.

The Belgian was not able to keep them in the Premier League, but it was him who get them there in the first place after winning the Clarets promotion last season.

Nevertheless, it may still be too early for the Manchester City legend to take on a job like the Chelsea one.

Someone more experienced like Tuchel would be the safer bet, but it is clear that the Chelsea board want to head in another direction, so you would not rule out Kompany just yet.

It is certainly going to be interesting to see who Chelsea end up appointing following Pochettino’s departure.
