At the declaration of the March 18 governorship and House of Assembly elections, LP won 14 seats out of the 24 members of the Assembly leaving 10 for the ruling party People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Blueprint gathered from reliable sources that some of the members-elect are now jittery that they might lose their seats at the tribunal.

Some of the elected members speaking about their cases at a retreat organised by the leadership of the party in Enugu on Friday, prayed Labour Party members to remember them in their prayers so that they would eventually emerge victorious.

Speaking at a retreat held at Top 10 Hotel, GRA, Enugu, one of the members-elect who did not disclose his name, urged all and sundry to pray for them to prevail at the tribunal.

“We are happy that we are in the majority in House because we are 14 while the opposition has 10 seats. Therefore, being in the majority, we pray that we win at the tribunal to be in control of the House. I urge all of you to pray for us,” he said.

PDP had alleged that there were irregularities during the polls, hence some of the candidates approached the election tribunal for redress and reclaim their mandate….CONTINUE READING
