Maintaining his innocence, Robinho has resided in Brazil for the past seven years. However, the BSCJ ruling signals his impending arrest in Santos, where he currently resides.

Despite his intention to appeal the decision to the BSCJ and the Federal Supreme Court, Robinho’s extradition to Italy is not likely due to Brazilian laws that typically prevent the extradition of native criminals. Nevertheless, he risks arrest should he leave Brazil.

The case against Robinho included intercepted phone calls between him and others involved in the assault, which served as crucial evidence during his trial. Despite admitting to ‘contact’ with the woman, Robinho insisted that it was consensual.

The winger, who emerged from the renowned Santos academy, enjoyed stints with top clubs such as Real Madrid, Manchester City, and AC Milan throughout his career. He also represented the Brazil national team on numerous occasions, amassing 100 caps.
