The only person to miraculously prevent being crucified was John the Divine. One of the Twelve Apostles and his brother, James. The Church Fathers called him John the Evangelist, John of Patmos, John the Elder, and the Beloved Disciple, and they also claimed that he outlived the other apostles and was the only one to die naturally
Was he impregnable?
The apostle John is supposed to have refused to stop preaching while being cooked alive in oil by the Roman emperor Domitian. Tertullian reports that after being put into boiling oil in Rome without suffering any harm, John was banished (presumably to Patmos). The second time John was forced to eat poison, it did not injure him as Mark 16:18 predicted.
As a result, John, the then-pastor of the Ephesus church, was banished to Patmos.
Some historians and academics claim that John was released from the island before his death, while others claim that he died while on Patmos.
