Recall that the returning officer of the Abia gubernatorial election, Professor Nnenna Oti, claimed that he was financially incentivized to manipulate the election results.

Otti, vice chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, revealed this on Tuesday when he was greeted by the university’s leadership, staff, and students. Similarly, Governor-elect Alex Otti accused some election officials of colluding with Ikpeazu to change some of the results of the state gubernatorial election.

According to Otti, the results for the Obingwa Local Government Area, home to Governor Ikpeazu, were adjusted in favor of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Okechukwu Ahiwe.

But Ikpeazu said he had never met Professor Oti before and added, “I was shocked from the beginning.”

He said, “If she is a teacher, she should know it; she is not even capable of manipulating the results because the results have to be from the units, taken from the wards and local authorities.”

“For her, it was just adding them up and announcing them.” I have never met her before. I haven’t talked to him yet. If I have met her, let her go public and announce it.
