The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) had previously threatened to shut down CBN offices across the country due to the apex bank’s failure to make banknotes available to Nigerians.
The demonstration, which is slated to begin next week, comes as the federal government, the Central Bank of Nigeria, and commercial banks in Nigeria have seven days to end the present cash crisis.
Comrade Joe Ajaero, national president of the NLC, told media at a press conference in Abuja yesterday that the decision was essential because the ultimatum imposed last week expired yesterday.
The organized labor also urged all affiliate unions to begin mobilization in order to secure complete compliance with the anticipated shutdown of the apex bank.
