Vanguard made it known that, the meeting was for the Leadership of the Labour Party, to discuss with their members in the National Assembly on the candidates they were to support for Senate Presidency and Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The source, while talking said that, ideologically, Peter Obi was trying to force his candidates on them and if that was the case, there was nothing new about Labour Party. He said Peter Obi was able to get one person away from them LP lawmakers who were supporting Hon. Tajudeen Abbas project, among them and the person is a female.

He said, “In the meeting we had in Abuja, Peter Obi, tried to impose his candidates on us. He wanted to force us to do what he wants, but no way. They planned to call us for another meeting this coming weekend, I think on Sunday and it will be said that, Labour Party, has decided to vote for Senator Yari and Hon. Betara. He is telling us that, the party is supreme, but how do we support someone that is rebellious against his party ?”

He said if Peter Obi calls for division, they will have the majority, but he won’t do that and at the meeting they held, some of them said they were adults and they should be allowed to make their own choices.

He said, “So, we won’t back down. How can Peter Obi whom people are shouting his name up and down as a democrat now turn to be undemocratic?…..CONTINUE READING
