Wearing the captain’s armband, Omeruo played in Kasimpasa’s seven-goal thriller against Galatasaray before heading to Morocco.

As for Bassey, he played the entirety of Fulham’s impressive win against Tottenham Hotspur, helping goalkeeper Bernd Leno post back-to-back clean sheets at Craven Cottage.

The Super Eagles are already facing a crisis at right-back ahead of their March internationals with Empoli’s Tyronne Ebuehi pulling out of the squad after suffering an injury, while Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina wasn’t called up due to fitness issues.
