Lere Olayinka said; “Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, welcoming the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu, to Port Harcourt this morning. Tinubu is in Rivers State to commission some of the landmark projects of Governor Nyesom Wike’s govt.”

Recall that Peter Ayodele Fayose supported the presidential ambition of former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu before the general elections. He was one of the Peoples Democratic party chieftains who did not support the presidential ambition of their party’s flagbearer, former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress later defeated Atiku Abubakar and other strong contenders including Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in the election held on the 25th of February, 2013 to clinch the apex political seat in the country.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic party however claimed that the election results were manipulated in favour of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and they have gone to court to challenge the presidential election results.
