His plane is expected to land at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Sunday.

“Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the President elect, will fly to Abuja on sunday, from Paris,” the source stated.

On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, Tinubu left Nigeria for France two weeks after returning to the country on working-visit to Europe.

statement from his media office signed by Tunde Rahman had noted that the trip was to enable the President-elect perfect his transition plans with his key aides without undue pressure.

“He will use the opportunity of the trip to finetune the transition plans and programmes, and his policy options with some of his key aides without unnecessary pressures and distractions,” the statement noted.

The statement further noted that in the course of the visit, Tinubu will also meet with investors and other key allies to market investment opportunities in the country as well as his administration’s readiness to create a business-friendly climate through policies and regulations.

“Already, meetings with multi-sectoral actors in Europe’s business community, including manufacturing, agriculture, tech and energy have been lined up.

“Asíwájú Tinubu hopes to convince them of Nigeria’s readiness to do business under his leadership through mutually-beneficial partnerships premised on jobs creation and skills acquisition.

“Reviving the country’s economy forms a major plank of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and the meeting is part of his efforts to re-establish Nigeria’s importance in the global economic chain and create empowering opportunities for the country’s huge youth population,” the statement added.

A similar report from The Punch stated that multiple sources in Tinubu’s camp have confirmed that he is expected back in the country on the eve of the official opening of Dangote Refinery complex.

The Dangote Refinery, with its much-awaited 650,000 barrels refined oil per day is scheduled for launch by President Muhammadu Buhari on May 22.

Located in the heart of the Lekki Free Zone area in Lagos, the facility, described as the world’s largest single-train refinery, covers an expanse of land that is approximately 2,635 hectares.

“From what we heard, Asiwaju may be returning on Sunday just in time to meet up with the official launch of Dangote refinery in Lagos. There is no way he will miss such an opportunity for anything in the world.

One, the event is happening in his base, in Lagos. Secondly, he will also be giving a talk during the official opening. Aside from him, the president and several other African and global business leaders will be in attendance,” a source said.

Another APC chieftain, who craved anonymity, also told The PUNCH that the president-elect is seriously under pressure and cannot “wait to hit the ground running.”

The party chieftain also confirmed that his much hyped list of cabinet members is ready and may be officially unveiled after his inauguration.

He said, “Asiwaju is anxious to hit the ground after his swearing-in ceremony. Although it has not been made official, I learnt his cabinet list is ready and would be released after the May 29 inauguration.

“But as I told you earlier, it is his prerogative to decide who and who should make his list of ministers and heads of agencies,” the politician added.

When contacted, the Director of Media and Publicity for the dissolved APC Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga, also confirmed that Tinubu would deliver a paper at the Dangote refinery opening ceremony.
