Tinubu Has Not Met The Expectations Of Nigerians –Oloyede

Speaking with Daily Independent on the 100 days in office of the government, he said that the people had high expectations that the new government would bring a positive change to their lives, adding the government has made the lives of a majority of Nigerians poorer.
“The prices of goods and services have gone up and a large percentage of the people have been forced into the poverty bracket and cannot afford the basic necessities of life.
“Many people cannot afford to leave their houses to transact business because the cost of transport has gone up. This was caused by the removal of subsidy on petrol; the removal of subsidy on petrol was untimely and poorly executed.
“The government ought to have put measures in place to mitigate the impact on people and this was not done. What the government is doing is limit the unnecessary damage it has wrought on the Nigerian economy and people.
“Increasin salaries of workers will not solve the problem because prices have risen to a level that salary increase cannot match,” Oloyede stated.
He argued that giving palliatives to some people will not solve the problem, adding that it is a way to line the pockets of some people.
The former PDP candidate asserted that the sufferings in the country are becoming intolerable and called on the government to implement policies and programmes that will make the lives of Nigerians better.
Oloyede also said that the security situation in the country has not improved.
He called on the government to reduce the cost of running the government and reduce corruption in the country….CONTINUE READING
