Rivers state, Port Harcourt – Rivers state government has issued a strong warning to supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) ahead of the presidential election tribunal’s judgement.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara said illegal and unnecessary protests will not be allowed in the state over the outcome of the tribunal judgement.

Fubara urged the political parties and their presidential candidates to call their supporters to order has the state would not allow illegal protests.

He added that dissatisfied supporters should appeal the outcome of the tribunal’s judgement at the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, the Labour Party (LP) has raised concerns ahead of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) judgement on Wednesday, September 6.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, in a statement issued via Twitter page @NgLabour, said the LP is shocked by an unguarded statement from the former Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Justice Mary Odili praising President Bola Tinubu and his counsels.

Reno Omokri, ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s former aide, has revealed the reasons why the petitions of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will be dismissed by the presidential election tribunal.

Omokri said Obi did not prove his case simply because he had no case that he won the February 25 presidential election.

The petitions filed by Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP’s) presidential candidate, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) against the electoral victory of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are nearing their conclusion.
