The Minna High Court 6, presided over by Justice Maimuna Abubakar, had ruled in a case brought before it by an APC member, Saudaki Abubakar, challenging the emergence of Yusuf Waili of the same party as the candidate in a pre-election matter concerning the party’s local government election primaries in Gurara.

The court had averred that the processes for the consensus candidate as option for the emergence of the chairmanship candidate of the party was not followed hence the annulment of the APC candidate, Waili emergence.

The court also ruled that the candidate that came second, (the NNPP) should be sworn-in as the Gurara Local Government chairman as he awarded the chairmanship seat to the party’s candidate, Alhaji Abdulkhalim Abubakar and should therefore be sworn in.

But the court’s declaration is being disregarded as the state governor has refused to act accordingly by swearing-in Abdulhalim as the chairman of Gurara Local Government Council hence creating avoidable tension in the area….CONTINUE READING
