In an interview on Symfoni TV on Monday, November 2, 2026, Anabs Sara-Igbe, a Niger Delta activist and political leader from Rivers State, discussed the political situation in the state and the possible implications of the disagreements involving Nyesom Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara ahead of the 2027 general election.
Sara-Igbe spoke about the political influence of Wike in Rivers State and the position of the people regarding the ongoing political developments. He argued that the political situation in the state should not be determined by the influence of individual politicians, insisting that residents would have the opportunity to express their decisions through the electoral process.
Speaking during the interview, Sara-Igbe stated, “Wike will be defeated in Rivers State. The President may not win in Rivers State, and they will be held accountable.” He made the statement while discussing the forthcoming general election and the possible political consequences for Wike and the ruling party in Rivers State.
Sara-Igbe maintained that the apparent silence among some political stakeholders in the state should not be interpreted as an indication of political acceptance. He suggested that political developments could unfold differently from what some influential figures might expect.
The activist also discussed the relationship between Wike and Fubara, arguing that the people of Rivers State should have the final say in determining their political leadership.
His comments come as political activities surrounding the 2027 general election continue, with political alignments and disagreements in Rivers State attracting attention.
He concluded that the outcome of the 2027 general election in Rivers State would be determined by the electorate, stressing that political influence, alliances and public office should not replace the people’s constitutional right to choose their leaders.
