Kidnapping suspect, Odidika Okwuegbulem, has recounted how he was allegedly approached and negotiated payment for the assassination of a man identified as Ikem in Imo State, revealing chilling details of the transaction.
Okwuegbulem made the disclosure during an interview on Channels Television, where he narrated how the deal unfolded and the financial bargaining that followed. His account offers insight into how suspected criminal operations are arranged and executed, particularly in regions grappling with rising insecurity.

Providing details in the interview, the suspect said: “I wanted to use money to pursue him. I told him N10million. He said if I don’t want to work, I should leave it. I asked him how much will he pay, he said N1.5million. I told him that he should come later. Later in the day, he brought N500,000 3 times.” The statement suggests that after initial disagreement over the fee, the alleged contractor made partial payments in installments, signaling a possible agreement between both parties.
The suspect’s revelation has drawn attention to the disturbing trend of contract killings, where financial incentives are used to settle personal or business disputes.
