In the course of his service, he traversed the length and breadth of this country and proved in all the formations he found himself to be a professional crime buster. As the chief security officer to the first civilian governor of Adamawa state, late Alhaji Sale Michika, in the 90s, Garba proved beyond expectations that he is equal to the task of providing security to the governor even though he was nspector.

In his 35 years in the Nigeria Police Force, he proved to be an officer to rely on as can be attested during his stay at the Kaduna State Police Command where he was the command’s finance officer for a consecutive 10 years.

From Kaduna, Garba was transferred to Warri, Delta state, as the area commander where he worked to the admiration of all, especially the police high command by busting the activities of criminals who are pillaging the crude oil of the country illegally thereby denying the country billions of naira as revenue.

His path crossed with many senior police officer like the present Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba, who was the Jimeta divisional police officer in Adamawa state. No wonder, IGP Alkali Baba commended him for his superlative performance in Warri, which drastically reduced the rate of crude oil theft.

Garba was never found wanting throughout his 35 years in service as a policeman. Rather, he was awarded a lot of medals for being a thorough professional, who also served in peace mission abroad.

He is a man of the people and loved by his surbodinates. When his mother died in 2022 in Jimeta, his surbodinates in Mopol20 Lagos visited to condole with him in Jimeta on the sad event.

This clearly demonstrated the fact that he is an officer who in the course of his duty has his surbodinates in mind and can stand with them no matter the circumstances. He stands by his people in the hour of their need. ACP Muktari Mohammed Garba derives happiness when he sees people sleeping with their two eyes closed.

He is loved by the people of Jimeta because of his simplicity and composture as a man who wipes away the tears of the less privileged of Gwadabawa ward.

He is compassionate and listens to and considers others’ views, irrespective of status. This attribute endeared him to those, who worked under him in the various formations and units.

The police officer has proved his mettle as worthy ambassador of the Nigeria Police Force. Because of his passion for the force, he assisted in overhauling and giving a face lift to some police stations in his hometown of Jimeta.
