Anxiety Over Tinubu’s Breakfasts

Attention was especially drawn after the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa was surprisingly sent on suspension to allow the investigation of what the administration dubbed as weighty allegations raised against him. That suspension came days after the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele was sent on suspension.

However, for the political opposition, notably the Obidient supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, the seeming cleaning of the table and populist moves such as the introduction of the student loan scheme were not enough to change sentiments against President Tinubu as having benefited from what they claimed as a rigged presidential election. It was the belief of the Obidients that President Tinubu should also serve a similar breakfast to Professor Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Noting the actions of the president in the last few days, twitter user, Onakpo Chris E. O. @onakris tweeted:

Chef Bola Tinubu has been cooking delicious breakfast of late. Whose turn next it is to get served hot breakfast? I feel the IGP and the service Chiefs. Breathe of fresh air is needed to rejig and retool our security system in order to curb the ongoing and senseless killings….CONTINUE READING>>>
