One popular story about White ladies is that of La Llorona, a legendary figure in Mexican folklore. She is known as the weeping woman, and her tale goes that she was spurned by her lover and drowned her children in a fit of rage. After realizing the gravity of her actions, she then drowned herself. Now, her spirit is said to roam the earth, searching for her children and mournfully crying out.
