Kalu emphasized that the weekly Monday sit-at-home directive has not only caused severe harm to businesses but has also stifled the economic progress of the five eastern states.
He strongly urged against the continuation of this practice. Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Speaker stated, “The current insecurity and sit-at-home problem in the south-east pose an existential threat to Igbo entrepreneurship and businesses.
This issue has evolved into an alarming problem that is detrimentally impacting our collective prosperity as a people. As your son, it is my duty to speak the truth. I am deeply saddened by the state of our beloved land.
We must be honest and sincere with ourselves. I earnestly implore each and every one of you. “Kalu stressed the importance of not retreating from business endeavors and highlighted the staggering loss of N4 trillion in the past two years in the south-east alone, as reported by statistical data.
