Prince Walker-Ayeni was killed on Raby Street, Moss Side at around 4.15pm yesterday, despite emergency services rushing him to hospital, he passed away a short time later.
A murder investigation was launched by Greater
Manchester Police, with reports suggesting that this is being treated as a targeted attack.
Prince’s sister has said she was ‘heartbroken’ and ‘already missed’ him, as tributes have also been placed at the scene, with a banner reading ‘RIP Prince’ attached to a fence near Millennium Park.
GMP’s Major Incident Team have asked anyone who has any CCTV, mobile, doorbell footage to submit it to the police.

Greater Manchester Police said they were called to Raby Street in the Moss Side area of the city at around 4.15pm on Thursday
The 17-year-old was taken to hospital but died a short time later. His family has been notified.
In a statement issued on Thursday evening, GMP said no arrests had been made. This morning, a cordon remains in place on Raby Street and in the surrounding area as investigations continue and a forensic tent has been put up.
Yesterday, Detective Superintendent Simon Moyles said: ‘This is a tragic and senseless loss of life and our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends at this time.
‘They will remain at the forefront of our minds as we move forwards in our investigation to track down the person or persons responsible.
‘Whilst no arrests have been made at this time, I want to assure the local community that a visible police presence will be in place in the local area over the coming days for reassurance and to carry out enquiries as we work tirelessly to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
‘We are continuing to appeal for any information or relevant footage – including mobile, CCTV, doorbell or dashcam. Any information you have will be treated with the strictest confidence and if you do have information to share, I urge you to do the right thing and report it to police.’
