The Benue State Government (BNSG), has commenced construction work on its N800 million brewery that is expected to make it’s debut into the market in December, 2024. He also noted that the sampling of the beer would be carried out by the people of the state, in five different locations across the state, which are yet to be made known by the company.
The MD/CEO, BIPC, disclosed this while inspecting work on the ongoing project, situated at Akile community, km 16, Makurdi – Gboko, road, Benue state.
Daily Independent investigations reveal that the processes to the brewing of the beer which include the malting, milling and fermentation stages have already reached an advanced stage and would culminate into the proper sampling of the beer, in the next couple of weeks.
However, Daily Independent is yet to ascertain, whether the company would engage the services of a Sommelier, to carryout a further sampling exercise of the brew.
Therefore, the BIPC boss, urged the people of the state to take advantage of the development and engage in the farming of sorghum and casava, which are some of the basic raw materials needed to brew the beer.
Asemakaha, who was accompanied on the occasion by management staff of BIPC, took note of progress at the construction site. He also expressed his desire to see the project completed on schedule.
He said, “This brewery, which is expected to be completed soon, will provide direct jobs for hundreds of youths; have a backward integration for thousands of Benue farmers, and contribute to the growth of the economy in line with the vision of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.”
Conducted around the project site by Arch Jerry Iosun, the Department Head, Real Estate and Infrastructure as well as Philip Zegejir, the Project Programme Manager, provided the BIPC, boss, With updates on the progress of work so far done.
BIPC , observed that the construction of the brewery is a significant milestone in the development of Benue State and is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of the people.
Recall that earlier in May, Dr Asemakaha explained that when the factory fully takes off, it would stem capital flight, in the region of N700 million to N1 billion monthly. End.
