Amid the heightening insecurity situation in the country, Mrs Yetunde called on parents to stop writing their children’s names on the backs of their school bags and cardigans.

According to her, parents should consider writing the names inside their bags because it makes it easier for kidnappers, rapists, murderers to call the children by their names if done otherwise.

Mrs Yetunde added that these children would respond positively when their names are called because they will believe the criminals know them or are their relatives.

In her words: “Please do not write your children’s names on the backs of their school bags and cardigans. Consider writing the names inside their bags.

“The reason is this: it makes it easier for kidnappers, rapists, murderers to call them by their names and these children would respond positively by believing that these criminals know them or they are their relatives.

“Please pass the message on to other parents and save our children. Wishing them all happy resumption.”
