The legal and political battle surrounding the Imo West senatorial ticket has intensified, with Barrister Enyinma Onuegbu, Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations) to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, revealing that police forensic investigations confirmed documents submitted by former Governor Rochas Okorocha were forged.
Speaking on TVC News’ Politics on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Onuegbu explained that the primary election committee, the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) promptly petitioned the police after learning of the court action filed by Okorocha.
Detailing the findings of the investigation, Onuegbu stated:
“Now the problem we have is when he filed the action quickly, the committee became aware of it. The rear admiral wrote a complaint to the police. The party wrote a complaint to the police. INEC, he claimed submitted his name, wrote a petition to the police. The police embarked on an investigation, took all the documents for forensic examination, and these documents were confirmed forged by a forensic report from the force headquarters in charge of forensics. Every signatory to those reports disclaimed what Okorocha brought to court, and our side filed these responses with our processes in court.”
