The suit, filed by Victor Jumbo, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, along with Sokari Sokari and Orubienimigha Timothy, led to Justice Wali restraining the 25 legislative members from conducting any legislative meetings or sessions at the House of Assembly Quarters Auditorium on Off Aba Road, Port Harcourt, or any other location.

The seats are declared vacant pending the hearing and determination of the suit. The court has adjourned the case to July 1, 2024, for the next hearing.
