While reacting, Kenneth Okonkwo made it known that the Supreme Court judgement on the Kano State and Plateau State election petition was based on justice and not on technicalities. He went on and noted that the peace and joy that paved those states after the Supreme Court judgement proved that melody of justice will always be better than malfeasance of corruption.

Mr Kenneth Okonkwo made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle on Friday evening, while reacting to today’s Supreme Court judgement.

He wrote: “The Supreme Court judgement on Kano and Plateau based on justice, not technicalities, and the peace and joy that pervade those states after the judgement has proved that the melody of justice will always be better than the malfeasance of corruption.”

It should be recalled that the supreme court today affirmed the election of Governor Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP. A panel of Supreme Court Justices led by Justice Inyang Okoro unanimously disagreed with the decisions of the lower courts, sacking Governors Yusuf of Kano State and Mutfwang of Plateau State. The court thereby upheld the elections that produced these two Governors.
