During an interview on Arise TV, Clark revealed Wike’s humble beginnings, stating that the Minister was collecting rent from motor parks before Odili appointed him as a local government council chairman. Later, he became governor through the influence of Jonathan’s wife, Patience, as reported by Daily Trust.

The elder statesman stated, “In 2015, who put Wike there? Who sponsored him to become governor of Rivers state? He should ask himself whether he was sponsored by people or he just came like that.

Who was he? He was just a lawyer in Port Harcourt and he was collecting rent from motor parks before Peter Odili made him the chairman of a local government council.”

Clark questioned Wike’s political allegiance, pointing out his involvement with both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He emphasized the role of Jonathan and his wife in imposing Wike on the people of Rivers State, despite opposition from the public.
