The Social Democratic Party governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Umar Ardo, has opened up on the role he played in the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as President in 2015. He said that when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Goodluck Jonathan as winner of the 2011 presidential election, Buhari said that he would not go to court to challenge the election result, yet he later did so. Ardo who was a four-time governorship aspirant in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said that between 2011 and 2013, he was the one doing the strategic thinking and driving in the formation of the All Progressives Congress, the platform through which Buhari eventually came into power in 2015.
He said that despite all the efforts he put in to ensure Buhari’s victory, Buhari turned his back on him immediately after he became President in 2015.
