However, while the beverage is popular in many countries and cultures around the world, the amount and type of beer consumed varies by location, for a variety of reasons.
Inflation and currency devaluation led to a decline in the African beer industry last year. In addition, beer is strictly prohibited in certain other countries for religious reasons.
According to a Wisevoter survey, Namibia has the highest beer consumption rate in Africa. Africa’s beer market has grown steadily due to changing lifestyles, increased disposable money, urbanization, and youth interest in beer. Both big brewing conglomerates and local breweries are capitalizing on this booming industry. Africa accounts for roughly 8% of the worldwide beer consumption market.
Beer consumption is measured in the study both in volume and per capita. The latter is used in this study to indicate how many liters of beer are consumed per person in a country.
