According to a statement written by the victim at the local police station, the woman, identified as Risper Akoth, was in church with her newly married husband when the ex-husband approached them. The suspect man started an argument that later turned violent. The man then drew a knife and stabbed the woman several times in the abdomen. The woman was rushed to the hospital, where she is receiving treatment.
“The man was my ex-husband, and we separated a few months ago after he sent me away from his home. I have been married again, and he also has a new partner. He came to our sitting place and started assaulting me. He started a violent altercation, then picked up a knife and stabbed me four times, almost killing me,” the victim remarked.
The victim’s new husband said that the incident was hurtful and hence requested that the police provide satisfactory justice to his wife. Police have commenced an investigation into the incident.
