City & Crime reports that bandits had on November 18, invaded the community, abducted eight persons, including the father of the vice chairman of the council, but on December 2, freed the father of the vice chairman and two others after they collected a N5m ransom.
Confirming the killing and the release of the remaining four victims through telephone on Sunday, a family member of the victims, who preferred anonymity, said the victims were freed on Friday, around 6:12 pm.
A resident, Shuaibu Aliyu, who spoke with our reporter on Sunday, said the villagers, especially women and children, had fled their homes and relocated to neighbouring Awawa, Abaji and Yangoji villages and Kwali town.
He said, “Some residents that have relocated, especially the farmers, do sleep in neighbouring towns and return the following morning to their farms.”
When contacted, the spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, told our reporter on phone that, “I cannot comment on that but I will inform the CP as he is in the position to comment on that.”
