Udoh argued that while Dung’s participation is noteworthy, it does not warrant celebration as it has been a regular occurrence in the past.

Udoh emphasized the need for more Nigerian referees to officiate in major tournaments on the continent and globally.
“Musa Dung has always been going for the Futsal tournament. It’s not the first time we’ve had people going for a beach tournament,” he stated.
“Jelili is a legend, he is a veteran referee in the beach tournament. I think he’s gone there over five times.”
Highlighting the longstanding participation of Nigerian referees in such tournaments, Udoh expressed his desire to see Nigerian referees officiating at higher-profile events.
“But what we are clamouring for is to see a referee from Nigeria in the middle of a major tournament in Africa and the world,” he emphasized.
Udoh suggested that Nigeria should have a greater representation of referees at such tournaments, both in futsal and beach soccer.
“At this point, we should have four referees from Futsal and four referees from Beach,” he stated.
In conclusion, Ferdinand Udoh underscored that the inclusion of Dung in the AFCON Futsal
tournament does not signify a significant milestone and called for more substantial achievements in referee representation at major tournaments.
