The Chess in Slum Initiative Africa convener started his attempt on Wednesday, April 17, defeating all his opponents, including New York’s National Chess Master, Shawn Martinez.
Tunde updated his X followers about the progress being made and appreciated people for their support.
His 58-hour chess marathon is underway in Times Square, New York City and is being streamed live via Tiltify.
Legit.ng confirmed Tunde’s cause has received $25,240 in donations (over N29 million).

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that singer Adekunle Gold had donated dollars and other items to support Tunde Onakoya’s Guinness World Record attempt.
Recall that the music star recently visited the venue where the game was being played to show his support for the Nigerian man physically.
However, shortly after, news made the rounds that Adekunle Gold’s support did not end there. It was gathered that the music star also made some donations.
