Femi Otedola is a Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, born on November 4, 1962, in Ibadan, Nigeria. After completing his studies, he ventured into the business world and established his own company, Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd, in 2003. He later acquired a controlling stake in African Petroleum (now known as Forte Oil), and under his leadership, the company grew significantly, becoming one of the largest players in Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas sector.

Aside from his business ventures, Otedola is also known for his philanthropy, and he has donated large sums of money to various causes in Nigeria, including the Michael Otedola University Scholarship Scheme, which he established in honour of his late father. In 2019, Otedola made headlines when he donated N5 billion (approximately $13.8 million) to the Save the Children Fund through his daughter’s foundation, the Cuppy Foundation. This donation was one of the largest single donations ever made by an individual in Nigeria.
Otedola has received numerous awards and recognitions for his business acumen and philanthropic efforts, including the Order of the Niger (OON) award, one of Nigeria’s highest honours, which he received in 2011.
Otedola also has a huge love for luxury cars, and everyone knows that. He has shared pictures of two flagships Rolls-Royce Phantom 8 sedans – one in Nigeria and the other in the UK, as well as a 7th-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom.
