The most successful people aren’t the smartest, the most talented or remarkable in any sense really they just do one thing better than anyone else. They believe in themselves and so take bigger bets.

Over the last 6 months, I’ve gone from $1,000 in side hustle income to earning over $150 a day, taking home between $5–6k a month.

A year ago I’d probably have cried if I knew I’d be doing that.

Today, I’m realising the power of the internet.
The car crash that was my life

Corporate life was not for me. It took me a good few years to accept that. I sort of went back and forth a million times, just making triple, quadruple sure I didn’t want to be a suit-wearing, KPI-talking board member.

I did not.

I spent 3 years in the corporate world knowing that this wasn’t my long-term plan but I was too scared to accept it. But because I was hedging my bets, I never committed to the side thing.

I started countless businesses, all of which failed.

When things got too hard I quit. My negative self-talk was endlessly crippling and my self-respect was in the dirt. I had about as much resilience as a paper cup. All of that needed to change if I was to make it online.

But over the past 3 years, things have changed massively for me. Today I earn $150 a day and my plan is to double that.

So here’s what I did to get here and where I’m going next.
1. One platform, one problem, one message

It took me 2 years to find my niche and then a further 6 months to realise it. I kept experimenting with all kinds of writing until I found my fit.

I listened to the numbers and the comments and adjusted as the months went by. Over the years I built an audience on Medium (my platform of choice) and later leveraged that on Twitter (that’s when everything changed).
