Instructions:

Get all of your ingredients and supplies together. You will need a large pot, a wooden spoon, a bowl, and a mold to shape the soap. Burn the plantain skins (or other ingredients) in a dry, well-ventilated place. Once the skins have been burned all the way through, let them cool.

Use a mortar and pestle to grind the burned skins into a fine powder. Make a paste by mixing the powder with water. For about 30 minutes, stir the paste often while heating it over low heat.

Slowly add the palm kernel oil (or other oil), and stir for another 30 minutes. You can also add a few drops of essential oils to give it a scent. Pour the mixture into the mold and let it cool and harden for several hours or overnight.

Take the soap out of the mold and let it sit for at least two weeks before you use it. You can add essential oils like lavender, peppermint, or rosemary if you want the soap to smell a certain way.

Make sure you use fresh ingredients when making soap, because soap made with old or spoiled ingredients won’t turn out well. Be careful with the fire and the amount of ash you use. If you burn the plantain skins too much, the soap will be too harsh for your skin.
