Isaac, Bishop Oyedepo’s second son, the Global Youth Minister of the Living Faith Worldwide, it was alleged, had been having running battles with the ministry’s leadership over his dissatisfaction with the salaries and wages of the ministry’s workers and pastors.
His moves to get the ministry’s leadership to improve on the welfare of its workers and pastors allegedly met a brick wall.
It was alleged that the Church’s second-in-command, Bishop David Abioye, at a time, intervened in the matter, taking Pastor Isaac to Kaduna, his base, to douse the tension.
Isaac, in a statement, said he is still a member of Living Faith Church Worldwide and that the relationship between him, his family and father was still very intact.
He, however, could not confirm if he had at a time resigned from Living Faith Church or not.
But he chose to warn the media not to publish anything about him without his consent as that would amount to breach of his privacy.
Pastor Isaac stated: “It is worthy of note that no external statements have been authorised or verified by me. I must state that there are no complications in my relationship with my beloved family, and my beloved dad (Bishop David Oyedepo), who have stood by and supported me over the years; nor are there any in my commitment to my church-turned-home, Living Faith Church (also known as Winners Chapel international).
“I remain a steadfast member of Living Faith Church, dedicated to service in the Body of Christ,” he said.
Isaac added: “I urge the general public to treat information not communicated by me, or from any of my social medic platforms, with extreme caution.
“There should be no further publication (s) on social media, electronic or print media, about any severance of my relationship with the Living Faith Church, or my family, without my express authorisation, as it may be considered a breach to my privacy. Thank you so much for understanding.”
However, a church source who spoke to Sunday Independent on condition of anonymity, said, “Although there was no official statement by the Church that Pastor Isaac Oyedepo threw in the towel, the issue was common knowledge within the Church environment.
“However, although the Church leadership was trying to see how to make him stay on in the ministry, his ‘purported’ resignation was leaked to the media, to the embarrassment of the family and ministry’s leadership.
“It is believed that a lot of pressure was mounted on Pastor Isaac behind the scene by the family and top leadership of the Winners Chapel and he might have quietly withdrawn the resignation based on that.
“No one can say what agreement or arrangements were agreed upon before he publicly came out with the statement that he is still a member of Living Faith.
“We are keeping our fingers crossed. We are watching with keen interest
“If Pastor Isaac leaves Winners Chapel, there is fear that he may draw a lot of youths in the church, both locally and internationally, as he is very popular among them as their pastor.
“This, the Church leaders will not want to happen, hence efforts were made to nip the crisis in the bud.”
