JUST IN: Committee On New Minimum Wage In Closed-door Meeting

The tripartite committee responsible for setting a new national minimum wage is currently meeting in Abuja. This marks the fifth gathering since organized labor suspended its industrial action. During Thursday’s session, committee members expressed optimism that a decision on the new minimum wage figure could be reached by Friday.

This series of meetings follows the temporary suspension of industrial action by organized labor, which allowed the committee additional time to finalize their negotiations and present a proposal to the National Assembly.
