Today being Thursday 29th Match 2024, a commissioner of oath, who is a staff of Federal High Court, has testified before Kogi Tribunal that the court affidavit attached to Usman Ahmed Ododo’s declaration of age is not from their office.
Testifying, the commissioner said, the affidavit which Ododo claimed was issued to him on 3rd August 2003 does carry the features of their document.
He added that, on 3rd August 2003 was a Saturday which was not a working day and as such, no ghost in their office who could have issued affidavit to him on a weekend.
Meanwhile, the affidavit being marked as an exbit before the tribunal, if the case is judged without biased, Governor Ododo Ahmed Usman would not only lose his office but also serve three years imprisonment.
According to Section 484 of the Criminal Code, “any person who, with intent to defraud any person, falsely represents himself to be some other person, living or dead, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for three years”.
Similarly, Ododo Usman Ahmed has also indulged in lying against federal High court which amount to perjury, an offence punishable by law.
For emphasis, the law according to section 118 of the Criminal Code reads: Any person who commits perjury is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years. If the offender commits the offence in order to procure the conviction of another person for an offence punishable with death or with imprisonment for life, he is liable to imprisonment for life”.
The implication of the above sections is that Ododo could face 3 and 14 years imprisonment respectfully.
However, all eyes are on presidency if she will allow justice to be served in this case without influencing the decision of the court in favour of Ododo who is a member of All Progressive Party (APC).
