Kenneth strongly believes that if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with its Biometric Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) was unable to hold transparent elections in 2023, what makes it possible for them to hold a credible census in Nigeria without BVAS.
Recall that the 2023 elections were allegedly marred with irregularities. Regardless, the President- elect has emerged and would be sworn in come May 29.
Okonkwo chastised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for squandering Nigeria’ s borrowed resources in the name of wanting to conduct census.
Given Kenneth Okonkwo’ s position as the spokesperson, his tweet could be interpreted as a warning to the government to ensure transparency and impartiality in future electoral and census processes. Given the alleged irregularities seen in the 2023 general elections.
In his exact words, he stated thus;
