Oyo School Abduction: Fayose Blames Gov Makinde for Insecurity

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has blamed Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in the state, alleging that the governor failed to act proactively to address insecurity.

Fayose made the remarks during an interview, monitored by Politics Nigeria, while reacting to the recent abduction of pupils and teachers in Oyo State.

According to the former governor, Makinde did not take sufficient steps to prevent the security breach.

“I stand by my words. Seyi Makinde was not proactive enough. The abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo is a problem caused by Governor Seyi Makinde.

“It is the responsibility of the state government to mobilise the police. It is also its responsibility to manage the security network in the state,” Fayose said.

The abduction occurred after suspected bandits attacked schools in Oyo State and kidnapped several pupils and teachers. One of the abducted teachers was later killed by the assailants.
