During a courtesy visit by the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers and the Nigerian Automotive Manufacturers Association, led by Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Ms. Doris Uzoka-Anite, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of manufacturing vehicles that are durable and accessible to Nigerians from all walks of life.
The delegation, which included the Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) and representatives from prominent automotive companies, shared updates on efforts to commence vehicle and spare parts manufacturing in Nigeria. They highlighted ongoing legislative initiatives aimed at driving the automotive industry forward.
In response, the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, expressed gratitude for the visit and affirmed President Tinubu’s commitment to Nigeria’s industrialization agenda.
He pledged support for the swift passage of relevant legislative bills while underscoring the importance of maintaining high-quality standards in locally manufactured vehicles.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, reiterated the President’s call for locally produced vehicles to meet stringent quality criteria.
He emphasized the need for affordability, aligning with President Tinubu’s initiatives to provide consumer credit for Nigerians to access essential goods and services, including vehicles.
